Spurked!

I've been very good and haven't bought anything since June except a few cheap bones and daily necessities for myself. So I have decided to offer a "For Trade" list for those wanting art, but who are also strapped for cash. Under the cut are a list of items I am looking for and would be willing to trade for art.

The rules are simple:

1. Email me for an agreement on trade before buying anything!

2. Under the cut you'll find some links to half.com. You do not have to use half.com, just use these links as a way to get the info of the items, and to compare prices with other places.

3. No bootlegs! My art isn't a cheap ripoff, so I don't want the traded items to be.

4. If you already have one of these items and would like to trade it, email me detailed pictures and I will compare it to others on ebay, amazon and half.com and we can work out a value for it.

5. Shipping is free since we'll both be mailing things to each other. I ask that I receive your end of the trade first so I can inspect it and make sure it works before mailing off my end.

6. If you have any similar items that you think I would like to trade for art, email me.

What do you guys think about grygon having two deviantart accounts?

1 for my visual art, and 1 for photos. I have SO MANY photos but I never upload them cause I think they're taking over my main DA account. :(

This gets you #2 plus you get to have the original drawing. I ship via UPS only (don't get me started on how often USPS loses my mail) and it costs me $13 to send a stiff envelope with artwork in it.

Recruit a friend!
This gets #2 at the price of #1, or #5 at the price of #4.
How it works: get a 2nd person to commission me. They have to email me and mention YOUR NAME.
If you have more than 2 of you in on the deal (2nd friend gets a discount too if they get a 3rd friend... etc.), you guys get together, do the math, and work out a way to pay me with ONE paypal account so I can avoid the multiple paypal fines. Then contact me with the details/questions. :)

April 6: I've been asked a few questions linked to this contest and thought others might find them useful as well:

How will you judge entries?

I'll be judging on what piece is more aesthetically pleasing. What color combination was most effective. If shading is used, and how, and if not... was it on purpose or just lack of knowledge or laziness? Also, did they just use the lineart, or include some of their own... inventions?

It might be a shiney piece, or it might be a creative piece that wins. Or it might be both creative and shiney. :) But the big thing is- effective aesthetics. Of course, that is up to the eye of the beholder. The winners I choose, may not be the ones you would've chosen.

Why the name of Auslander?

Way back in 1995ish when Grygon was born, she needed a name (Grygon is what she IS). I saw an X-Files episode that mentioned the word 'auslander' meaning 'outsider'. Now, I didn't choose it in a "omg, we're so emo and will enver fit into normal society" way. More in a way that Aus Grygon is just so strange... THAT kind of outsider. ;)

So I currently have 2-out-of-4 examples of some new line work uploaded. You can get a piece like this done too:

I did several orthographic view drawings of Grygon (front, back, and side) this weekend for my final modeling project in Maya class. And I think it's time for another redesign... she has a kick-ass beak but her tail, I realized, it a bit wimp... so, this time for her tail:



#1 is the most recent design that I use now. #2 was ofcourse inpired by the horns that shinigamigirl draws. #3 I am kinda leaning towards for some reason. #4 reminds me too much of a dolphin... too happy (and oops, did I write "shark tail" by a dolphin tail?). #5 and #6 bore me, too traditional for dragons. #7 could be promising.

What are your votes?

Since it was decided that I get a seperate site for my adult art, I have been trying to think of a name. Something that suites me now... and is kinda fun.

I go by Auslander Grygon on the net (ppl usually forget the "Auslander" part cuz I rarely use it now a days, but it's still me!) and I'm a huge fan of Fullmetal Alchemist (particularly alchemist names, I made one up for myself: "Meat Puppet Alchemist") and Death Note (those shinigami in particular, Aus Grygon could so be one). I, ofcourse, am into other fandoms as well but these 2 right now have caught my heart and won't let go and I hope won't let go for a very long time.

I also love ouroboros. Got one on my hop, after nearly 10 years of looking for the right ouroboros design.

Perhaps something totally unrelated... tho not really? "bean"? my aunt used to call me string bean (or was it 'leen bean?), and yaay, Ed in FMA is often called a bean.

Everyone has songs that makes them think of their favorite couple on their favorite shows. And while usually they are never right-on for that couple, that doesn't matter because YOU see that song as their song. :)

(what gets me is when you have someone nitpick your soundtrack for a show or couple when theirs is equally as nitpickable).

Anyways, I am asking all my Roy/Ed readers, as I seem to have quit a few now, to give me their RoyEd soundtrack. Lyrics, if you want. Or just a title/singer. Share the love.

Until now I never had a RoyEd song. Today while letting my iPod do it's shuffle it came to a song I haven't heard in ages. Written by Mercedes Lackey, and sung by... some guy... I didn't put that info into iTunes info so at the moment I can't tell ya.

Anyways, here are the lyrics beneath the cut. And please note the reason this sung struck me as RoyEd is from the way that I tend to RolePlay as Roy. So if you like my writing as Roy then you'll probobly understand why this song reminds me of RoyEd. :)

And if you haven't guessed, yes, it's supposed to be Roy singing (or thinking, cause I can't picture him ACTUALLY telling Ed this).
