MitterGrygon coloring CONTEST!
Alright, my very first second contest.

WHO:
For Grygon!
grygon@gmail.com

WHAT:
Color this and follow the coloring rules.

1st place will be chosen by me. Winner will get a free line-art done by me of their character, uploaded at 2,000 pixels wide for others, or them self, to color. Also a link to their gallery in my deviantart signature for a week (read 2nd place info).

2nd place will get a link to their gallery in my Deviant Art signature for a week. Seriously folks, that little bit of exposure (I am a WHORE on devianart forums) did wonders for my own page views. Whenever I'm whoring the forums I get between 30-100 page views on my gallery. When I'm not whoring the forums, I'm lucky to get 1 a day.

WHERE:
Email me a link to where ever you uploaded your finished contest piece. In the text of where you submit it, link to my contest and to the original piece on DA (that's part of the coloring rules) and tell me it was for the contest.

WHEN:
Deadline is May 16th. That gives you 50 days and will end right around my finals week. I'll take a few days afterward to consider my choice and then post the decision soon after. We'll see what my schedule is like then but you should expect a decision within a few days.

WHY:
Because you love me!

HOW:
Color it however you want. Save it and print it out to color it on your choice of paper. Or save it and open Corel/Photoshop to digitally color it. However you want!

EDIT- April 6: I've been asked a few questions linked to this contest and thought others might find them useful as well:

How will you judge entries?

I'll be judging on what piece is more aesthetically pleasing. What color combination was most effective. If shading is used, and how, and if not... was it on purpose or just lack of knowledge or laziness? Also, did they just use the lineart, or include some of their own... inventions?

It might be a shiney piece, or it might be a creative piece that wins. Or it might be both creative and shiney. :) But the big thing is- effective aesthetics. Of course, that is up to the eye of the beholder. The winners I choose, may not be the ones you would've chosen.

Why the name of Auslander?

Way back in 1995ish when Grygon was born, she needed a name (Grygon is what she IS). I saw an X-Files episode that mentioned the word 'auslander' meaning 'outsider'. Now, I didn't choose it in a "omg, we're so emo and will enver fit into normal society" way. More in a way that Aus Grygon is just so strange... THAT kind of outsider. ;)

How will you judge this? By creativity or how shiny it is?

I'll have my bachelors in studio arts in a few months so I think I have a good idea for judging SOME art. Though I got so much to learn still. :(

Anyway. I'll be judging on what piece is more aesthetically pleasing. What color combination was most effective. And if they used shading, and how, and if not... was it on purpose or just lack of knowledge or laziness.

It might be a shiney piece, or it might be a creative piece that wins. Or it might be both creative and shiney. :) But the big thing is- effective aesthetics.

I wasn't insulting your abilities, just curious what guidelines you follow when judging :)

Anyway, here's my entry. Hope it's not too eyeburning

I posted that reply right before going to bed. I totally didn't mean it to sound that harsh. Lol.

I'm replying via cell phone now but even on this 2.5 x 1.5 inch screen that looks ridiculously awesome. Can't wait to see it on my much larger lcd.

Do you need it hosted some where? I have a Guest folder I keep on my website if you need a gallery for it.

I'll add it to the list of entries when I'm able to access my pc tonight. :)
